My name is Vickie McVay and I am a licensed clinical social worker. Since receiving my Master’s degree from Roberts Wesleyan College I have been working with a ariety of populations. My extensive background has encompassed working with individuals who have a history of trauma, Co-occurring Disorders, young adults, and those with cognitive limitations. My training includes, Domestic Violence at the Young Women’s Christian Association, and Child and Adolescent Hospitalization located at Strong Memorial Hospital. I received further training at Catholic Family Center of Rochester New York as a Co-occurring Clinician for individuals with both a history of mental health and substance related disorders. My approach involves the use of psychoanalytic theory with CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and DBT. My goal is to meet the individual where they are, understand the perspective in which they come from by recognizing and building on their strengths. My goal when working with clients is identifying small objectives so that they can see their progress of growth and healing.
