Naomi Montague, LCSW-R, is an accomplished clinical social worker with over 30 years of diverse experience. Licensed in five states and having served abroad with the Air Force, she returned to Rochester in 2020, where she works as a clinical consultant for PEEEEEEK, dedicated to addressing disparities in children’s mental health services. Additionally, she has contributed to Sankofa Family Counseling. During her 17 years with the NYS Office of Mental Health, Naomi held numerous essential positions. She was contracted as an adoption assessor for the Erie County Surrogate’s Court and worked as a private clinician in Rochester, receiving referrals from leading physicians. In 2005, she wrote the novel, The Write1.com, and in 2006, she began contributing to the Good Counsel advice column for Rochester’s Democrat & Chronicle. After serving as the clinical director of an inpatient program for mental health and substance abuse in North Carolina, Naomi successfully established her private practice, where she provided in-home treatment services, garnering hundreds of referrals from the Juvenile Justice system and the Departments of Health and Human Services in both South Carolina and North Carolina.
As a certified trauma-informed therapist, Naomi shares her knowledge through her YouTube Channel, FeelnGoodTherapy with Naomi, where she offers lessons in psychotherapy. She passionately expresses, “I believe there comes a time for ALL of us when we need help due to life’s challenges. I am honored when people reach for my extended hand because I love what I do!” Naomi values the therapeutic partnership, collaborating with her clients to tackle issues together while celebrating both growth and achievements.
Her extensive experience has afforded her various training opportunities. In addition to being trauma certified, she is trained in EMDR and has worked with the Department of Transportation as a Substance Abuse Professional, providing evaluations as needed. Naomi is also trained in Gottman couple’s counseling.
In her personal life, Naomi is married and takes pride in her two adult children, both of whom are married and each has one child. One child is a recent law school graduate living overseas, while the other is a physician assistant in North Carolina. She enjoys traveling and has a passion for meeting new people and exploring different cultures.
