Misty Boldt, LMSW, is a dedicated clinician with a passion for her field. Growing up in a small, rural community, she witnessed the impacts of generational trauma, domestic abuse, addiction, and elder abuse. This fueled her desire to become a social worker, aiming to address social injustices and provide therapy to those affected by mental health issues and unresolved traumas. Throughout her career, Misty has gained experience in various environments, including working with victims of human trafficking Adult Protective Services, county jails, and mobile crisis intervention. She particularly enjoys assisting clients with reintegration, as well as challenges related to Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, and pre/post-partum issues.
Misty values building connections with individuals and fostering a safe environment for open dialogue. She employs motivational interviewing techniques to promote thought exploration and self-reflection and deeply appreciates the collaborative nature of therapy. Misty earned her degree from both SUNY Brockport and Nazareth College and is a certified Trauma Professional and a Certified Case Manager. Recently, she has embraced her faith and provides support for clients seeking Christian-based counseling. Additionally, she finds fulfillment in working with couples and families in need of guidance.
Outside of her professional life, Misty is a proud parent of two talented teenage boys and has three dogs. She enjoys reading, both for leisure and to expand her knowledge. Recently baptized after overcoming the challenges of breast cancer, she has navigated her own therapeutic journey, gaining valuable insights that enhance her work with clients. Misty credits therapy for her ability to share self-reflectiveness and self-awareness in her practice.
