Amy (Amelia) DeRusha earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Social Work from Nazareth University, along with minors in Interfaith Studies and Religious Studies. Since earning her Master’s Degree, she has worked with youth and families navigating acute and complex trauma, behavioral challenges, and significant life stressors. She especially enjoys supporting children, teens, and families as they work toward healing, growth, and stronger connections with one another.
Amy’s personal and professional experiences have shaped her deep appreciation for diversity, communication, and the importance of understanding each person’s unique life story. Having lived in many different places, she understands how meaningful it is to feel truly heard, respected, and supported. She also recognizes the powerful role communication and connection play in building trust and meaningful therapeutic relationships.
Amy is committed to creating a compassionate, supportive, and judgment-free space where clients feel safe to share their experiences while building confidence, resilience, and growth. She approaches therapy with curiosity, empathy, and respect for each client’s background, beliefs, and lived experiences. Amy believes therapy is a collaborative process and meets clients and families where they are in their journey.
Outside of work, Amy enjoys gardening, cooking, traveling, spending time with her dogs, trying new restaurants, and learning new languages.
