Meet Abigail (Abby) Knowlton, LMSW, a compassionate clinician committed to fostering positive change in her clients’ lives. Abby understands that emotional regulation can be particularly challenging during stressful times. With her experience running emotional regulation classes, she takes pleasure in guiding clients through the process of developing important skills to navigate these difficulties. She specializes in building interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with those facing Borderline Personality Disorder, PTSD, and trauma. Abby also has extensive experience supporting individuals through life transitions, relationship challenges, depression, and anxiety.
Creating a safe and non-judgmental space is at the heart of Abby’s therapeutic approach, which prioritizes compassion and a person-centered methodology. She feels honored to support those seeking assistance and values the opportunity to help them express themselves freely. Abby’s journey in this field began with her work at a Veteran’s Crisis line, providing crucial support and connecting individuals with vital resources. She later expanded her experience at a clinic, helping adults navigate a range of challenges.
Abby received her Master’s of Social Work at the University of Buffalo. She holds a certificate in Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). When she’s not working, she enjoys reading, hiking, skiing, playing volleyball, and spending cherished moments with her husband and their beloved one-eyed Bernese Mountain Dog, Winky.
