Dr. Mary Tederous Williams is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling and Education from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Before becoming a therapist, Dr. Williams worked as a Registered Nurse, an experience that deeply shaped her compassionate and holistic approach to care. Her background in both nursing and mental health allows her to support clients with a unique blend of medical insight and emotional understanding.
Her doctoral research focused on caregivers of patients with ALS, an experience that profoundly influenced her work with grief, loss, and resilience. Dr. Williams has extensive experience supporting individuals and families through a range of challenges, including trauma, chronic illness, infertility, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, and neonatal loss. She also works with clients coping with PTSD and Military Sexual Trauma (MST), helping them move toward healing and post-traumatic growth.
Dr. Williams believes the heart of therapy lies in the therapeutic relationship—a space built on trust, empathy, and collaboration. She is honored to walk alongside her clients as they find meaning, strength, and hope through life’s most difficult experiences.
Outside of her work, Dr. Williams enjoys spending time with her beloved grandchildren and caring for her animals. She finds joy and peace in nurturing others—both people and pets—and values the simple moments of connection that bring warmth to everyday life.
