Hello, my name is Timothy Hartman, LCSW. Working with populations in both densely populated urban areas and rural areas as well, I have a unique perspective and experience working with all types of individuals, specifically adults, young adults, and those going through things like depression, anxiety, adhd, substance abuse issues, and trauma utilizing therapy techniques like ACT, CBT, DBT mindfulness, and solution focused therapy models.
I enjoy listening and learning about you. I really love seeing people grow and develop deeper insight into why people are doing what they are doing. I love seeing success more than anything. I really believe that the real work is when people start really processing how they are feeling.
I was born and raised in the Rochester area. After getting my Masters in Social Work, I moved to New York City, where I lived for 10 years prior to relocating back to Rochester in 2015. I have worked primarily in the mental health field, but have some experience with substance abuse as well as with forensic populations. I work currently doing mobile crisis social work. I have 2 wonderful children and I love watching them grow. I really enjoy coaching youth sports. I also love playing guitar and singing with others. I am also passionate about social justice and you might see me at some local protests.
