Michele Martin, LCSW
About Me

Michele Martin is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who earned her degree from SUNY Brockport. She brings extensive experience working in outpatient mental health clinics, nonprofit organizations, and school-based settings, supporting individuals through life transitions, trauma, relationship challenges, mood disorders, stress, domestic and partner violence, career exploration, and re-entry following incarceration. She has a special passion for working with individuals who have been involved in the legal system and are committed to healing from the past while building a healthier future.
Michele believes therapy offers something unique—a space that is truly yours. She strives to create a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel deeply heard, respected, and accepted. She considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they navigate life's challenges, helping them identify meaningful goals, overcome barriers, and discover hope along the way. While not every problem has a simple solution, Michele believes that healing comes from learning to navigate life's difficulties with resilience, self-compassion, and practical tools for growth.
Her therapeutic approach is person-centered and draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Attachment Theory. Michele believes each client is the expert on their own life and works collaboratively to help them move toward the future they envision.
Outside of the office, Michele enjoys baking, spending time in nature, arts and crafts, and caring for dogs.
