Hello, my name is Martha Buseck-Fischer, LCSW. If you have struggled with mental health, family dysfunction, trauma, or life transitions, I am experienced and enjoy helping people work through these issues. It is important to have client-centered goals. I find system approaches to be successful and believe trust and relatability are important factors in building a therapeutic relationship.
I work with both children, adults, and families, specializing in family systems and school issues. Spirituality is important to me. I have spent my career in group homes and school systems. I am currently a trainer in TCIS (Therapeutic Crisis Management in Schools) and recently retired from TIG (Trauma Illness and Grief). My life story has motivated me to pursue Spirituality and Social Work. I have always believed I was destined to pursue counseling and help mend broken families.
I myself have family who have struggled with mental health, substance abuse, and family system issues. This experience has given me insight into the challenges individuals may be facing due to these issues. I have been able to break the dysfunctional cycles in my family and our children and grandchildren are healthy, happy, and successful.
I am originally from the Adirondacks and moved to Rochester as an adult. I am married, we have a blended family of 7 children we have just celebrated our 20th anniversary. In my free time, I love to travel and try new things. Family is very important, my husband and I have 7 children and 9 grandchildren. We are huge Disney fans and frequent Walt Disney World every couple of years with our entire family.
