About Me

Mark Burgess, LCSW, is a highly skilled therapist with an impressive 25 years of experience in the mental health field. Throughout his career, he has specialized in the treatment of addiction and substance use, primarily within an outpatient setting. Mark’s extensive background in community health has equipped him with the tools to work effectively with individuals facing significant mental health challenges, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.

In his current practice, Mark has been successful in supporting clients who are struggling with trauma, addiction, anger management issues, and mood disorders such as bipolar disorder and depression. He is trained in Progressive Counting, which is a method to help clients navigate and process their traumatic experiences in a supportive environment.

Mark firmly believes in the transformative power of therapy. He places emphasis the importance of helping clients identify and change negative thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that can have be effecting their lives and relationships. Through the therapeutic process, individuals can gain insight into their challenges, improve their relationships, and ultimately improve their quality of life. Taking a strengths-based approach, he is enjoys collaborating with his clients, working together to help them becoming the best versions of themselves, while simultaneously fostering their resilience.

Outside of his professional life, Mark is a parent and values spending quality time with his children. He also enjoys outdoor activities, particularly hiking with his dogs and watching football.
