Hello! My name is Kate Gregory, LMSW. Throughout my career I have worked in a number of settings to gain experience working with a diverse population. These settings include both inpatient and outpatient mental health centers, addiction rehabilitation centers, incarcerated persons, school settings. I have worked in administration/ management since 2016 where my focus has been on program development, systems change and advocacy and community change. Through this experience I have found I enjoy, and do the best work with those dealing with self esteem, anxiety, depression, addiction (non acute), dual disorder, woman issues, and life changes/goals.
I lead from a person centered and strengths-based approach in therapy. I like to create an environment that fosters connection and safety for the client. A setting that does not create pressure to achieve goals any faster than the client is ready to achieve. A setting that helps reduce stigma that therapy is threatening or that the patient does not have a voice. the client’s voice is what in fact, leads the session. My job is to guide, educate and validate, using evidenced based skills, primarily in CBT.
A bit about me: I have two orange tabby cats at home that make me laugh every day! I enjoy spending time with friends and family, spending time in nature and when I want a day in, I enjoy baking! I have been playing around with cupcake decorating this past year and it has been a blast!
