Bonnie Macdonald is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Geneseo and a master’s degree from Medaille College. She began her career working primarily with clients living with serious and persistent mental illness (SPMI), before she transitioned to working with individuals navigating substance use disorders. Bonnie has extensive experience supporting those with dual diagnoses and is passionate about working with highly motivated clients, especially around relationship concerns.
Her approach is rooted in the belief that therapy should empower clients to develop the skills they need to help themselves. She recognizes that she doesn’t have all the answers—and instead sees her role as guiding clients toward discovering their own.
Outside of her professional work, Bonnie enjoys playing on a recreational kickball team each week, spending time with her family, and relaxing with her cats.
