I am dually certified by the State of New York as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Certified School Counselor. I have had the pleasure of working with individuals, families and groups promoting social and emotional wellness. Over the past 20 years I have practiced at several out-patient setting, in the private sector, community non for -profit sector and the United Stated Military treating a full range of issues. I am skilled at treating depression, anxiety, traumatic stress, anger management, low self-esteem, obsessive compulsive disorder, ADHD and suicidal ideation. Although I primarily embraces a client – centered approach I also utilizes techniques grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy as well as solution focused therapy. I have extensive experience working with children and families struggling emotionally and academically. Additionally, I have worked as a Military Family Life Counselor helping veterans assimilate back into civilian life. I embrace a holistic, caring and empathic approach to emotional wellness and look forward to partnering and supporting you on your journey.
As a therapist I have been affiliated with Victor Counseling practice since 2020. Prior to re-entering the private sector, I worked with the University of Rochester planning and building the initial phase of their Behavioral Health Crisis Call Line. I am a native to the Rochester area, attending and graduating from a local High School. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Nazareth College and immediately went to work in the helping profession. After 10 years of work experience, I decided to return to school at the University of Rochester to pursue a master’s degree in Human Development with an emphasis on School Counseling. After 5 years of working in the public-school system, my thirst for knowledge and acquisition of skills required to support peoples with social – emotional health increased. I returned to the University of Rochester to pursue a Doctorate in Mental Health Counseling and Supervision. Since graduating I have had the opportunity to work as a therapist and director, serving in multiple communities including rural and urban setting with a focus on diversity.
