Hello! My name is Alyssa Hancock and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Most of my clinical experience comes from spending 8 years working as a therapist at a community mental health clinic and a school based satellite.
I have worked with clients of all ages and treated a wide range of mental health concerns. I am most specialized in treating children, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate life transitions, relational difficulties, depression, anxiety, and self-esteem issues. I currently work as a School Social Worker for a Junior-Senior High School (grades 6-12).
I am very passionate about creating a therapeutic environment that allows my clients to express themselves authentically, build on their pre-existing strengths, and learn the tools they need to live up to their full potential and cultivate a life they are proud of. Previous clients have reported that my non-judgmental stance and compassionate nature allow them to feel safe and supported. I adjust my approach based on each unique individual experience.
My style is strengths based and person-centered, incorporating aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
