Hello, my name is Tracey Cox, LMHC. If you’re struggling with anxiety, anger management, family issues, stress, or PTSD, I would love to help you work through any or all of these issues. I enjoy helping my clients develop insights into their issues and assist in their journey toward confidence and growth. I have experience working with different populations which includes people who suffer from substance abuse, OPWDD, people who are in shelters, and those with mental health concerns utilizing a variety of approaches such as CBT, DBT, mindfulness, psychoeducation, coaching, and motivational interviewing.
Having family who have mental health and substance use concerns, I understand that life can become overwhelming. Thus, more problems can arise. I deeply understand the family conflict and the inner turmoil it can create. Because of this, my goal is to create a comfortable and non-judgmental environment where my clients can speak freely and work towards a healthier life.
I attended Stony Brook University where I graduated on 8/2015 with my BA in Psychology. I went to Capella University where I obtained my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling 8/2018. I love reading, eating good food, attending wrestling events, and having a good time. I also like to go and sit by a pier or lake and be one with nature. Self-care is important to one’s overall health. I would like to travel more to see interesting places and meet interesting people.
