About Me

Hi, My name is Lisa Couperus and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have 13 years of experience as a therapist in many different settings. I have worked in mental health outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, forensic programs and hospitals doing crisis evaluations.

I have experience working with children and adults of all ages who are dealing with a multitude of mental health diagnoses including but not limited to depression, anxiety, personality disorders, psychotic and mood conditions. I graduated with my Masters Degree in Social Work in 2008 from Roberts Wesleyan College. In 2002, I graduated with a Master of Science degree in Human Service Administration from St. John Fisher College. My education continues everyday though and I strive to be up to date on evidence based practices so I can better serve you!

It is such a big step to make when you walk into the therapist’s office for the first time, and I applaud you for making that decision to do so. Together, we will identify what is important for you to work on and how you can reach your goals(s) of therapy. My approach can be direct and structured, or if you prefer a lighter approach, I can do that too. I meet you where you are at and we go from there. I will ask questions with the goal being for you to gain insight into your situation, or empower you to find healing and resolve within your own self depending on what you are going through.

I look forward to meeting you and hearing your story.
