I have spent the last 7 years working with people who struggle with addiction, ranging from teens to older adults, and their families. With addiction typically also comes anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship turmoil, etc., and together we focus on the whole person.
Style: I utilize a person-centered, strength-based approach to meet my clients where they are at and help them identify what success looks like to them. I believe that providing education assists greatly in paving the way to success, as the more you understand the “why” behind your struggle, the easier it is to develop an action plan to make change.
I align with motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy. I am straightforward, yet compassionate, and also enjoy use of humor whenappropriate. I believe I create a welcoming atmosphere where my clients feel safe to be their authentic self.
